Charity & Donations

One of Wolds Wildlife Park’s aims is to raise funds and support conservation projects including those for wild animals by ex-situ and in-situ methods.  With this in mind and the fact that our Eurasian brown bears are so popular with our visitors we decided to support the Bears in Mind conservation project.  This project is based in the Netherlands, its sole purpose is rescuing captive bears that have been living in dire conditions around the world.

Bears in Mind have created a two hectare forest site which includes a waterfall, small stream and pond.  The Bear Forest started in 1993 and was one of the very first of its kind in Europe and currently is home to 11 recused brown bears.  Over the years it has been home to a total of 34 bears.

In order to raise funds for this conservation project Bears in Mind offer individuals or organisations the opportunity to own a plot (or plots) of this natural forest habitat and as such Wolds Wildlife Park are now the proud sponsors/owners of plot 28 in the Bear Forest.
